Public Relations and Influencer Engagement for Permobil

Permobil is a global leader in advanced mobility solutions for people with disabilities. The company designs and manufactures power and manual wheelchairs, seating and positioning solutions, and power assist systems. Built on an evidence-based innovation approach grounded in clinical research, Permobil develops personalized technologies to enhance the independence and quality of life of its users. With a worldwide presence, the group places the needs of people with reduced mobility at the heart of every innovation.
Context and objectives
Yucatan, a public relations agency based in France, supports Permobil — a Swedish company founded in 1967 and a global leader in premium wheelchairs — through a major strategic shift. As wheelchair reimbursement has come into effect in France and Permobil now handles distribution and after-sales service directly, the agency supports the brand in its transition from a B2B to a B2C model. The goal: strengthen Permobil’s positioning as the benchmark for innovation and quality in reduced mobility, reaching healthcare professionals, patients, caregivers and both mainstream and specialized media.
Missions
- Media relations: deployment of media relations campaigns to increase Permobil’s visibility across mainstream, healthcare and disability media, through regular corporate and product news and strategic newsjacking on topics related to reduced mobility.
- Expert positioning and thought leadership: development of expert opinion pieces and coordination of speaking opportunities on key topics — reimbursement and prescription quality, inclusive cities, access to employment — to establish Permobil as a go-to authority on reduced mobility issues in France.
- Influencer engagement and social media: activation of influencers and user-generated content (UGC) creators in the disability, healthcare and mobility spaces, along with targeted podcast outreach to expand Permobil’s visibility among new audiences, particularly patients and caregivers.
